Pinterest Challenge: Make a Chandelier

So I decided to cave, and actually do another thing of my pinterest board. I found all these cute chandelier inspiration but I did not think I was up to a big project just yet, so I improvised! I absolutely love it and Lotti, my roommate helped me figure out exactly where to put it!

Materials:

• Beads ( I used 6 packs of 6, so 36)
• A Lid
• Orchid Hanger
• Tea light Candle
• Hot glue

Directions
1) Cut once to make the beads into a string instead of necklace. I like cutting them at the same point (i.e. right after a big bead)
2) Decide on your color order, I went rainbow. Then fold beads in half.
3) Hot glue the beads in order around the outside of the lid, squish them as close together as possible.
4) While holding the bottom half tight in one hand, turn upside once glue has dried. Tie a ribbon tightly around the top half.
5) Take the orchid hook and make u-shapes at the bottom of the wires all pointing in. Then carefully wedge the wires under the ribbon. Hang up and insert tea light!
6) Marvel at it all!

We hung it our SUPER LONG hallway, and it reflects in the mirror so its double the fun! So have you made anything from pinterest lately?

Pretty Pretty Bowls

       So because I haven't picked my modpodge recently, I decided to take this Pinterest Challenge. I know, I know, shame on me for not doing more with the modpodge, it is like not breathing in the crafty world. Anyways, after poking around on pinterest, I finally picked these. They looked pretty simple and cute! Perfect! Easy craft to do and tons of uses. And the fit perfectly with my pretty pretty series found here (plus here), some here and a little bit more there. (Oops, found another here).

For this project, you need:

Terracotta pots

Modpodge

Fabric

Embellishments (because I couldn't not add sparkles)


 Directions:

1. Cut fabric to go around the pot, leaving extra room to fold over on the top. Then make slit (I did little over an inch between) around the top of the fabric
   
2. Modpodge the top area of the bowl and use the slits to overlap the fabric so it stays flat against the pot. Do not worry about the bottom, just work on getting the top smooth.
   
3. Next, modpodge the bottom and make slits, then do the same thing (overlapping) to keep the fabric flat. You may have to make pleats to make it look pretty.
   
4. Modpodge over all the fabric.
   
5. Add embellishments
   
6. Admire!

Pinterest Love

        My summer has been hectic! Since coming home, my computer has crashed and I've had to completely reinstall everything, including windows. Plus, my parents got empty nest syndrome when I left for college and became foster parents. I now have two foster siblings, a boy and a girl 9 and 10 respectively. They are the cutest angriest things ever, but they are quite the handful. Between my summer online classes and running around trying to help my mom with those two, I barely have a second to myself. But in the past few weeks when I get a spare minute or two, I find myself drawn to the same place, Pinterest.
